Q. What is the best-looking Ferrari ever built? -- A.J. (via Internet)
A. That's a tough question, considering all the highly talented stylists who have come up with Ferrari bodies. However, the breathtaking 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Speciale is among the best-looking Ferraris. Only one was built, using a Ferrari GT SWB (short-wheelbase) chassis from Ferrari and styled by Italy's highly respected Bertone coachbuilder's genius stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro. Remarkably, Giugiaro was still in his early 20s. His design paid tribute to Ferrari's race cars by dividing the grille area into two sections via a protrusion referred to as a Sharknose, although the rest of the car was unique. This auto was designed for Giugiaro's boss, Nuccio Bertone. Famous in Ferrari collector car circles, the car sold for $16.5 million at Gooding and Company's Pebble Beach Auction in August, 2015.
